Just yesteday, Senator Arlen Spector signed a letter to President George W. Bush criticizing the U.S. Bali delegation for its intransigence against any meaningful progress at the UN Climate talks.
We write to express our strong disagreement with [the positions the delegation is advancing in Bali] and to urge you to direct the US negotiating team to work together with other countries to complet a roadmap with a clear objective suffiient to combat global warming. Today, he joined 38 of his Republican colleagues (and “Democratic” Senator Mary Landrieu) as a Reckless Minority Endangererd America’s Future by blocking the Energy Bill from passage. Yesterday, calling to “not fuel additional delay” in action on Global Warming. Today, casting the deciding vote on cloture on the energy bill that will preserve $billions of subsidies for oil companies and kill off the renewable energy funding and research provisions.
