Environmental-related themes will show up in movies like the Transformers, dueling alien races, the Autobots and the Decepticons, bring their battle to Earth, leaving the future of humankind hanging in the balance.
The Times quotes the film’s co-author, Roberto Orci, “With this thinking all around, it’s obviously leaking into the popcorn movies.” From the article, “Mr. Orci added that he had seen a number of development projects recently in which the monster was created by environmental change.”
